As part of the Paid Social team at Hearts & Science I contributed to the domestic theatrical release campaign for “The Suicide Squad” a Warner Bros. franchise film. With an established fan base and built-in cultural recognition, the opportunity was to harness that existing enthusiasm and channel it into sustained awareness and ticket sales throughout the theatrical window.
The campaign spanned the full funnel across Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat, and TikTok, with each platform serving a distinct role in reaching both loyal franchise audiences and new viewers alike.
Working within an established franchise comes with its own set of expectations the campaign had to honor what fans already loved while broadening appeal and driving urgency around the theatrical release.
About the film
Directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad is the story of supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker, and a collection of nutty cons who join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.
The film went on to win 4 awards & received 42 nominations.
